Overview

Perform technical duties under the supervision of pharmacists to ensure safe, efficient and timely distribution of drugs in AH.

Assist the pharmacist in-charge to provide supervision to pharmacy support staff and to coordinate activities within a section to ensure smooth workflow and continuous improvement.

Dispense medicines to the patients according to department policies and guidelines.

Job Responsibilities

1) Daily Operations

· Provide professional and courteous service to all patients/customers

· Process medication orders/prescriptions for both inpatient and outpatient

· Picking, packing and labelling in accordance with stipulated policies, guidelines and department standard operating procedures

· Perform billing functions

· Ensures work area is ready for daily operations

· Maintains the cleanliness of the pharmacy and ward areas where drugs are stored

· Involvement in workplace quality improvement projects/activities as and when required

2) Inventory Management

· Ensures stocks are stocked up properly and tidily according to First-Expiry-First-Out (FEFO) requirement and stipulated storage condition

· Performs topping up of omnicell ward stock in the respective wards

· Ensures correct receiving of goods

· Secondary repackaging/redressing

· Carry out cycle counts and stock takes periodically according to SOPs

3) Dispensing

· Dispensing of medications to patients in accordance with stipulated policies, guidelines and department standard operating procedures
