Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Governance
- Plan and manage the care of individual patient during non-invasive and invasive procedure in a safe and competent manner.
- Assist in the implementation of standards and procedures.
- Maintain current trends in practice and management through formal education and self development.
- Demonstrate competency in specialised skills.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and follow through quality and services issues.
- Provide information and education to patient and relatives on the pre and post services and procedures.
- Understand the radiology safety policy and comply with it to ensure safety of patients and other personnel at all times.
- Assist in identifying and preparing the instruments or equipment required by doctors in the performance of procedures.
- Ensure the safety of patients in applying principles and knowledge of contrast media, taking into consideration the contra-indications and history of patient.
- Monitor and evaluate patient’s response and condition during procedures.
- Escalate the pertinent information to physician if patient’s condition requires.
- Ensure safe handling and familiarization of all medical equipment to avoid incorrect usage.
- Bring to the attention of the seniors, who will determine the nature of the fault, when equipment breaks down or is not working optimally.
- Respond and handle emergency situations in an efficient and calm manner.
- Apply infection control practices and standards.
- Be familiar with Meditech system and ensure compliance in documentation via the appropriate angiography system.
- Work closely with nurses and allied health workers and support staff to ensure patient care is met.
- Perform other assignments as and when required by the Nurse Clinician/ Manager.
- Participate in departmental/hospital projects relating to quality improvement and others to ensure improvement in work processes and quality of work.
2. Finance Management
- Assist in the inventory checks, control and replenishment of consumables and other supplies within the department.
- Ensure correct billing of consumables used and procedures done for patients.
- Candidates with nursing background are preferred.
- Certificate or Diploma in Medical Technology (Cardiac Technology).
- At least 2 years of clinical experience preferably in diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures (Cath Lab)
- Knowledge of hospital policies, work instructions and current trends in Cardiovascular practice.
- Possess certification of at least BCLS with or without AED.
- Possess sufficient theoretical knowledge and competent to perform diagnostic and interventional services.
- Prossess good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Computer literacy.
