Alexandra Hospital, a member of the National University Health System (NUHS) cluster, is a historic site providing integrated, holistic care to patients. As a test bed for innovative care approaches in Singapore, we are currently running a diverse portfolio of studies, including a new randomized controlled trial recruiting patients from outpatient clinics across NUHS, Alexandra Hospital, and National University Polyclinics.


We are seeking a Research Assistant/Associate to support our upcoming randomized controlled trial. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in various aspects of the study, from literature review and IRB submission to recruitment coordination and data management.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive literature reviews and appraise publications
  2. Coordinate IRB submissions, including new applications, amendments, and annual reports
  3. Collaborate with principal investigators, research fellows, and program managers to plan, prepare, and implement study protocols
  4. Manage research study activities, including patient recruitment, data collection, analysis, and management
  5. Extract and analyze data from electronic health records
  6. Provide regular research updates to the study team
  7. Maintain high standards of professional conduct and record-keeping in accordance with hospital policies, ethics requirements, and local regulations
  8. Assist with other research-related duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator
Requirements:

Qualifications:

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Science, Public Health, or Social Science

• Previous experience in clinical research preferred (patient recruitment, data collection, and/or data analysis)

• Strong ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment with diverse stakeholders • Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Critical thinking skills and quick learning ability • Experience in publishing research findings is advantageous

 

 The Research Assistant/Associate will work under the supervision of the Research Fellow and Principal Investigator (PI), liaising with relevant hospital personnel to ensure smooth recruitment and data collection processes.
